Preparation
- Backup the site with Akeeba Backup.
- Restore the backup to the test site.
- Upgrade the Joomla! version of the test site.
- Upgrade all important Joomla extensions.
- Test the site.
- Run a link checker W3C Link Checker.
Upgrade
- Backup the site with Akeeba Backup.
- Set the site to offline.
- Upgrade the Joomla! version by downloading the latest package from the Joomla! website.
- Upgrade all important Joomla extensions, including:

- JCE editor
- Akeeba backups
- Simple Image Gallery (by JoomlaWorks)
- mh auto archive
- Trombinoscope contact viewer
- XMap site map
- Apply core customatisation.
