News Items appear on the Home page in one line summary format. When you click on this line, the full news item is displayed. In order to create a news item, you have to log in to the back end (though you can edit them from the front end). News items can be a Noticesheet, Newsletter, News Bulletin or Sermon Download: To add a Noticesheet.
- First make sure the Noticesheet is saved somewhere on the PC on which you're working.
- Select Content>Article Manager>Add New Article
- Under Title, write the date of the Noticesheet, eg '13 November 2011'
- title of the News Item, then under Category select News from the drop down. The other items in the Edit article box probably won't need to be changed.
- Write the text of the item in the Article text box.
- Complete the drop downs on the right, headed Publishing Options: you will usually only need to complete the Finishing Publishing box. The Article Options and Metadata Options will not usually need to be completed or altered.
