Objectives
The overall objective is to prepare the church for the next decades. In particular, the objectives are as follows (in no particular order):
- Flexibility
- To build a sense of community
- To seat more people
- To align the seating with the New Testament model of the church
- To align the seating with different service styles
- To improve the usability of the church for extra-service activities
- Worship
- To draw people into the presence of God
- To enhance the worship
- Welcoming environment:
- To improve the accessibility of the church and the welcoming of new comers; to provide an open and friendly environment

Vision 21C Part III and Removal of Pews
Timing: 3-4 minutes

- An overview of ‘Phase 3’ – the completion of the overall ‘vision’.
- Linkage between Phases 1 and 2 and what we now plan to do inside church – outline of the various ‘key’ elements.
- Removal of pews – central to planning
Glass Doors
Timing: 3-4 minutes

- Historic ‘barrier’ to entry to church for non-believers
- Need for Christians to be seen at worship.
- Reflection on ‘missed opportunity’ in mid-1980s – plea to not ‘make the same mistake again’
Windows

- The windows – the glory of the existing church windows and the fact that they currently cannot be seen properly.
- Architect’s view and vision on what could be possible – reflection on Phases 1 and 2.
Welcome

- Church as a ‘warm’, comfortable place – not cold and off-putting.
- Desire to create a church worship space that people would be happy to come into.

Interactive Session
Timing: 1:30pm Participants: Groups
- Break into groups (number of groups depends on how many present) and invite church to ‘dream dreams’.
- Drawings, pens and cut outs (Marc’s suggestion). If group members have questions – add to sheet.
- CCC Inside group members to join each group and facilitate discussion. No general feedback at the end from every group!
- Groups will be ask to complete the feedback form.
- Each group will given the following items:
- Feedback form
- Print outs of the floor plan: 2 each (so groups can start again if necessary)
- Paper benches: 34 long ones, 12 short ones (need to be to scale to fit on the floor plan)
- Chair stickers: about 100 round stickers (do not need to be exactly to scale)
- Paper porch: 1 each
- Paper glass doors: 1 each
- Marker for prayer area: 1 each
- Marker for worship band: 1 each
- Marker A/V desk: 1 each
- Coloured pencils (for drawing)
- Glue(for sticking pieces on the plan): 1 each
