The search index should update automatically every time new content is posted, updated or deleted. However, the search index can become out of step with content. That's why it's necessary to purge the index and recreate it every month. A monthly reminder is sent from Outlook.com to digital@ccchislehurst.org.
To recreate the index follow these steps (Administrator rights required):
- Log in to the backend.
- Go to Compontents > Smart Search.
- Click on Purge in the action bar and confirm.
- Click on Index in the action bar and wait till the dialog indicates that the indexing has been completed. This should only take a few minutes.
- Send an email to digital@ccchislehurst.org that the reindexing has been completed.
