There are three levels of responsibility for each page of the website. The first is the Ultimate Owner who must be a member of the Leadership in order to provide continuity in the event of staff changes. The second and third levels are the Content Owner and the Content Author, which can be the same person. In rare instances, they may be the same person as the Ultimate Owner, however, this is not an ideal division of responsibility from a practical perspective.

The Content Owner has overall responsibility for the message and content of this page within the website and can appoint, if they like, a Content Author who is responsible for updating the page on a regular basis. If a Content Author is assigned, then on a periodic basis the Content Owner should be asked to review and approve the website page as being up to date.

The Content Author is responsible for ensuring that the website page is up to date and appropriate in accordance with the overall direction provided by the Content Owner. As stated, this person can be the same person as the Content Owner, a member of the website team, or another person.

Periodically, a member of the website team will contact each Content Owner and ask them to review the pages assigned to them to ensure the website stays fresh and accurate.
