Decline in the Greyhound Racing Industry

The greyhound racing industry is at severe decline as the public realize the cruelty and death that may be an inherent part of it but has been kept well hidden for many years. As attendances at races fall off and stadiums close down thanks to financial pressures, the industry is desperately doing all it might to attract new punters. They are advertising inside media and offering an array of temptations like free beverages and free releasewire.com , even free meals. They are targeting businesses to receive them to have their office parties at a night at the puppies. Stag nights, hen nights, all are valid focuses on for them. They are also claiming they've cleaned up their action and the atrocities which were brought into the open nowadays by the media are not now a compenent of their business.

Please don't believe any in their claims; the dogs are still suffering and dying in the same way they always have. How could it end up being otherwise? What are they going to do with the thousands of greyhounds that reach the final of their racing career on a yearly basis? They will tell you that every the dogs go in order to good homes and survive happily ever after but where are these homes coming from? Anyone who has ever tried to get any animal into the sanctuary will know installed likely always full with much time waiting lists. They can't find homes with the dogs they already have with no addition of thousands connected with ex-racing greyhounds needing homes.

The industry will also endeavor to refute our claims which greyhounds are suffering on a massive scale by fore warning you that they look once their dogs well because it's of their interest to do hence; they want their dog to get fit and healthy so that it could win races. Well at least they're admitting here that their concern is of a commercial nature, but they avoid the point that people are making entirely by saying this. We are not claiming make don't give their puppies adequate care whilst they may be in the racing crates; what we are trying to bring to public attention is what the results are to the dogs when they leave the relative safety of people kennels, when they are will no longer able to race to offer money for their owners because of age or injury auto wraps when they are will no longer a viable asset towards the business.

We will continue to stand in all kinds of weather outside the gates in the racing stadiums until greyhound racing ceases to exist in the uk and Ireland. We will also help support our American friends who sadly are having many successes within getting greyhound racing abolished generally there too, there are now merely 12 states in USA that have live auto wraps and the worst by far and away of these is Manatee county.
