Two things are infinite: human wants as well as their boundless desire for cars, and also the auto makers surely understand how to cash in on the second. The timing couldn't be more right for car makers to bump up their existing line-up and obtain buyers to bee-line before their showrooms. Come 2013 and Indian auto bazaar will be swamped with a slew of recent cars across all models and segments. Both the key global automotive bigwigs and homegrown makers are geared up to unveil important new models this New Year. For one, the vehicle buyers can expect lots of new changes in car technologies including major improvements in fuel efficiency, introduction of new safety features, more choices in terms of engine, trims, etc. 2013 definitely look more promising for both the manufacturers and buyers using the auto makers dishing out not only new models but several model upgrades too. Of all the cars lined-up for release within the next few months, we select two year's most long awaited cars of 2013 which are prone to alter the fortunes of the respective auto makers.
Honda Amaze
After experiencing their sales, Honda has finally decided a good move to boost their sales within the Indian market by announcing its first ever diesel car. Honda Amaze, the very first diesel car to leave Honda's mill, is clearly one of the most awaited cars in 2013. This Brio-based sub-four metre saloon will be available in both petrol and diesel engines. Inspired by Honda's Earth Dream Technology innovation programme, Honda's first diesel car will feature a newly developed, highly refined 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine, tailor-made to match the requirements of the Indian market. Also, because the sedan won't be any longer than sub 4-meter, one can expect a competitive cost for the same, thanks to the reduced excise duty. The Amaze will be pitted against segment bigwigs like of Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Tata Indigo.
Chevrolet Sail (Sedan)
After the successful launch of Chevrolet Sail UVA, Vehicle is prepared to produce the sedan form of it sometime in early 2013. GM has announced its aggressive expansion plans in India, and also the Sail sedan seems to be a part of its big plan. The Sail sedan will oust the existing Chevrolet Aveo model and is prone to compete against the entry-level sedans like Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios, Tata Indigo and Honda Amaze. The new Chevrolet Sail sedan will come with exactly the same Fiat sourced 1.3-litre TDI engine that also drives the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and will share its platform using the recently launched Chevrolet Sail U-VA. The brand new Chevrolet Sail is a partnership of Vehicle and it is Chinese partner SAIC. Especially produced for India, China and Russia, this totally value-for-money entry-level sedan might end up being a game title changer for Chevrolet in India.
