Babies are born having a special gift. This gift is their rapidly developing brain. You see the mind is developed whenever your baby is born, however the wiring from the brain and the forming of its systems happens inside the first 5 years of life. For this reason babies can learn to sit, crawl, walk and speak in this small amount of time. At birth they are like blank slates, waiting to determine what information we will put in them.

The opportunities we offer our babies will greatly affect their lives. When we stimulate them and speak with them, read to them and provide them opportunities to learn all they are able to, they will. Learning is second nature to babies. It is exactly what they're born to complete. They would like to touch everything, taste everything, see everything, hear everything and know everything.
