Owning your own home certainly has its benefits; nevertheless, when things go wrong with the appliances, it could prove costly for a new property owner. My spouse and I recently purchased our first home and furnished it with used home appliances that have been handed down to us from friends and family. At the time it seemed like a wonderful idea since it helped us conserve cash upfront, however we've only been in our house for six months and we've currently run into some issues with these home appliances. The first home appliance that gave us troubles was our dishwasher, which was most likely a result of our heavy use (and the fact that it once belonged to my mom, who also used it heavily). I called my mom and told her about what took place and she informed me about a company that offers dishwasher repair services in my area. I called them for help and the next day a dishwasher repair expert arrived at my door. He quickly identified what the issue was and got our dishwasher up and running with ease. Luckily this didn't take long since our dishes were beginning to accumulate and my husband doesn't like to clean the dishes. Just 3 days later, we began having issues with other home appliances, and I started to understand maybe getting used home appliances wasn't the best idea. A week before Christmas I was baking cookies with my spouse, although I wouldn't quite call it "baking." Our electric oven was more like an Easy Bake Oven in that absolutely nothing was coming out cooked the entire way through. We left in a batch of chocolate chip cookies in the oven for 12 minutes and they looked as if we 'd attempted to bake them in the microwave. It could not come at a worse time. The vacations are a bad time for the oven to short out because we were intending on having our family over for Christmas dinner and our finances are rather tight. Thankfully, though, my sister's spouse repairs Kitchen Aid ovens. I called him instantly and had him come by to check out what the problem was. He figured out that our Kitchen Aid oven repair expenses would exceed the cost of a brand-new oven. After hearing this information, my husband and I took a trip to the nearby appliance shop and got a new electric oven so we can successfully cook our traditional Christmas dinner.

Regrettably, the mayhem wasn't over. I totally think now that bad things come in sets of three. We rang in the New Year, and shortly after our washer and dryer were beginning to provide us problems. One day while doing the laundry I saw the washer was full of water even though it went through all the cycles. I needed to wring out all the garments before I could put them in our dryer. Our dryer was on its last leg as well, and I wasn't sure how much longer it would last, either. I went online and searched for washer and dryer repair in Dallas, Texas to find a list of places that provide repair services. I spoke to a Kenmore dryer repair shop that informed me our dryer was reaching unusually high temperatures and putting burn holes in our clothes. He also informed me our Kenmore washer probably could not be repaired. Once again we headed into the device store! Fortunately, it has been a month without any issues and hopefully it stays that way. close window
