Why is it that we buy water in bottles?
In my opinion it is because you want to feel like we are drinking water that is free of contaminants, free from chlorine, free from fluoride (although Used to do see bottled water WITH added fluoride...what's going on with THAT!?!).
Sadly, the by-product of drinking bottled water is plastic bottle waste. Here's what I'm referring to.
Last March, I went on my honeymoon in the heart of the world, beautiful Ecuador. While in Ecuador, we decided to take a trip to La Isla de la Plata, area of the Machalilla National Forest. It took us 1 hour 30 minutes by boat to get at the island, which means you know it's a ways off shore. We hiked around the island, exploring the birds which were native there and enjoying the scenery.
Then, we found an overlook that gave us a spectacular look at the remote beach below. I was astonished and disappointed to determine, literally, countless plastic bottles around the shore line!
Plastic containers, on the beach of the remote island within the Atlantic!!
I recall thinking to myself that I will never drink from the plastic bottle again.
So, where will i find clean water?
In fruit!
Think about it, a fruit tree takes water that soaks and filters with the ground and, through its root system, moves up into the tree, where it remains filtered as it moves out toward the branches. The water that's within the fruit has been filtered by soil, by roots, by the tree itself. Certainly, there's no more pure form of water that you could find!
- Remember to buy organic as frequently as you possibly can to avoid contaminating your brand-new "water supply" with pesticides. If you reside in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Washington, Arizona, Texas, Wyoming or Colorado, there is a wonderful co-op called Bountiful Baskets where you can purchase a full basket (a lot more like a bin) of organic fruits and vegetables just for $25.
When you are eating the recommended quantity of servings of fruits and vegetables, you will be getting all the water you'll need...the cleanest water you can find!
